President’s Message

Welcome to 2021 NNHRA members. This year, the focus will be on you. It is the Year of The Member! We already have great programming planned to kick off the year! However, we want to know from you what presentations would help you as we continue to navigate our ever-changing HR landscape.  Be on the lookout for surveys and please take a few moments to give us your valuable feedback so that we can continue to bring you information that is impactful and helpful.

I am honored to take the reigns this year and follow in Johnny Skowronek’s footsteps.  He did an amazing job of getting us through all the twists and turns we experienced. We can now bring you programming in a digital format yet with the same high caliber we have always enjoyed. In 2020, Johnny was a continual source of comfort yet determined leadership. He just sailed through so many obstacles.  We are an even stronger organization and ready for 2021. Thank you, Johnny, for your dedicated service and constantly going above and beyond.

In the first few months of the new year, we will bring you great webinar topics on humanness, equality, resilience, laughter, better interviewing, and Nevada legislation.  What a great start and that will just be the beginning! We also have maintained our COVID-19 resource page and strongly encourage everyone to utilize all that SHRM has to offer in navigating more change in 2021. We do hope to gather in person again sometime this year so will continue to monitor the situation and only do so when it is safe. The year will end with the biggest party you have ever seen in HR.  We are going to celebrate you, our valued member and awesome HR professional.  After the experiences we have had, we have certainly earned it. We will celebrate all we have done, how far we have come and the cherished ability to celebrate together.

Please respond to the surveys we will be sending via email and do not hesitate to reach out to us with ideas or resources you value. There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel and I hope that I get to see all of you in person soon.
